Syfr's mission is to transform education for the 21st century by providing resources that intersect ideas from other disciplines with education. Intersections currently has two areas to choose from; Connections, and BookNotes™.
Connections are podcasts usually based on articles or broadcasts and investigate these topics from the perspective of education. An article by Pixar's founder, Ed Catmull, might be the focus of a podcast on the value of cognitive diversity, quality, creativity, risk, and their relationships to successful teaching and learning.
BookNotes™ reviews a new book every two weeks. Usually the book is from leading researchers in areas of study such as art, history, economics, science, or business and the podcast connects it to education. For example, a BookNote on a Clayton
Christensen book about innovation discusses his theories as applied to the maturation and stagnation of the American high school. A BookNote about My Life in France, by Julia Child, considers the book's broad themes of collaboration and pairing.
